"Write down for the coming generation what the Lord has done,
so that people not yet born will praise him."
  Psalms 102:18

Established in March of 1984, Eastwick United Methodist Church became a reality. Our founding Pastor, the Rev. Dr. Alfred S. Maloney began a vibrant ministry in the Penrose, Eastwick community that has grown over the years. We are a church body seeking to fulfill the mission of Jesus Christ, fully embracing the Biblical mandate of making Disciples of Jesus Christ, “Make disciples of all people, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey all that I have commanded of you”(Matthew 28:19-20). We realize that we do not exist to fulfill self-serving objectives, but our primary goal is to advance God's Kingdom. We understand that we are blessed with the privilege of serving God and others.

We believe God has called us to be uncompromising with the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, holistically seeking to meet the needs of our community and beyond. During our service, you will experience a vibrant and relevant time of worship, reflecting the spiritual gifts and graces, imparted to us by the Holy Spirit. Over the years, God has enabled us to establish and grow through the following ministries:

Children and Youth Ministries

Our ministry integrates education and formation of children and youth, supporting, and nurturing them as they grow and develop into mature Christians reflecting the love and character of Jesus Christ. We also seek to help them to help them to identify and develop their spiritual gifts, enablingthem to serve and lead in various areas of ministry, accordingly.

Men’s Ministry

Our Men's Ministry provides a context where men can commune and fellowship with each other under the bonds of Jesus Christ. Our goal is to enable our men to become balanced disciples as they engage in both personal and social holiness. Personal holiness speaks to the necessity to engage in the spiritual disciplines of prayer, scripture study and meditation, fasting, and worship. Social holiness encourages men to engage society actively as advocates for Jesus.

Women’s Ministry

The objective of our Women’s Ministry is to enable women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

Christian Education

Christian Education is at the core of everything we do here at Eastwick, we realize that the Holy Scriptures are our presupposition for all that we do. God desires for all of His children to grow, mature into productive adults in Jesus Christ. We also realize that “without faith it is impossible to please God” (Hebrews 11:6a). The only way such faith is produced, is by and through the Word of God contained within the Scriptures. Here at Eastwick four of seven days of the week, there are various teaching ministries in session. We have placed a high priority on Christian Education, simply because, it works.

Ministry to the Least of These

Ministry to the Least of these, in Matthew , chapter 25, Jesus models holistic ministry to “the least of these” (v. 40). Here at Eastwick, we are blessed to be able to serve our community with some of the essentials of life. Located directly next to our Worship Center is our Missions House, where throughout the week, it is staffed with volunteers from the church to serve the needs of our community. We provide food, including fresh produce, and dairy products, as well as clothing to those in need. This ministry has been consistently providing assistance to the community for many years, and is considered a vital ministry in this community.
